Undiscouraged by what has been a turbulent year, it’s full steam ahead at Codecasa as production continues on the speculative build of its 58 metre project known as Hull C127. Penned as an “elegant” yet “gritty” unit matched with exceptional technical performance, the yacht represents Fulvio Codecasa’s creative vision and will to design a new and innovative on-spec project.
A new benchmark
Set to be one the fastest yachts in its class, Hull C127 will feature a fast displacement hull capable of reaching speeds in excess of 20 knots – an impressive feat for a yacht of this size. The design will not only set a new benchmark for the Italian yachting community but for the wider industry too.
Accommodation is for up to 12 guests, comprised of an owner’s suite, five guest cabins and room for a crew of 13. At the heart of the project lies a lift serving all decks, along with a 3.5-metre pool positioned on the sun deck and a beach area astern granted by a folding shell door.
In the preliminary design phase, Codecasa’s technical team, headed by Gianluca Imeri, with the guidance of Pierluigi Ausonio, worked to greatly reduce hull resistance by playing with “wedge-style” stern supports and putting the design to the test in a series of high-tech CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations.
With the data to hand and a target of 20 knots within reach, the new project will be equipped with two heavy-duty Caterpillar 3516E engines, delivering a top speed of 21 knots and a range of over 6,000 miles when cruising at a moderate 12 knots.
Maximum guest comfort will be ensured on board thanks to the exceptional build quality and technological standards that continue to underpin the Codecasa brand.
Delivery of Hull C127 is slated for summer 2023.
