by Malcolm Maclean
The 52.8 metre explorer motor yacht Latitude, listed for sale by Steve Reoch at All Ocean Yachts, has been sold in an in-house deal.
Latitude was built by German yard JG Hitzler as an ice classed supply vessel with delivery in 1973 and converted into a superyacht between 2003 and 2006. Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins consisting of a master suite on the bridge deck and three doubles and two twins on the main deck, all with en-suite bathroom facilities. In addition, there are quarters for 15 crew.
The main deck saloon is panelled in Brazilian cedar and is comfortably furnished with two L-shaped settees, occasional chairs and a full wet bar while forward is a dining area with seating for 10 guests. The main galley, freezer room and crew mess are aft, completely separated from guest areas. The crew galley and crew mess are also on the main deck while the lower deck is dedicated to crew accommodation and machinery
A particular feature is a 18,000 litre fresh water swimming pool and Latitude is also helicopter capable. Designed for global voyaging, she returned in 2017 from an extended three year exploration and fishing expedition in Tahiti and the far Pacific islands.
Twin 938hp Deutz MWM diesel engines power her to a comfortable cruising speed of nine knots and she has an outstanding range of 10,000 nautical miles.
Latitude was asking $2,695,000.
