The 53-metre Oceanfast motor yacht Mizu has changed central agency and is now listed for sale with Ocean Independence.
Named after the Japanese word for water, Mizu was delivered by Australian yard Oceanfast in 2004 to a "military-inspired" design by Sam Sorgiovanni and naval architecture by Austal Ship Design. She was originally built as an Austal frigate, before the Australian team converted her into a "true ocean-going vessel".
The aluminium yacht underwent "full refits" in 2016 and 2023, with additional updates in 2024 featuring the addition of zero-speed stabilisers for enhanced comfort.
Mizu's interior – also by Sorgiovanni – is contemporary and adorned in copious amounts of rich woods. She houses accommodation for a party of 10 in five cabins, the owner having a dedicated deck with large picture-frame windows. There are additional quarters for a crew of 10.
The yacht features a myriad of entertainment options, including a home theatre on the upper deck and a 10-person Jacuzzi and bar on the sundeck. The main deck aft provides ample space for lounging and tender and toy storage, with the capacity to fit two eight-metre tenders, cars or even a basketball court.
The 498GT yacht for sale is powered by twin MTU 3750hp diesel engines giving her a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots. Her range is transoceanic – capable of crossing both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans – offering 5,300 nautical miles.
Lying in Athens, Greece, Mizu is asking €11,400,000.
