The 41.8-metre classic Feadship motor yacht Alaia has been listed for sale with David Legrand of Fraser. She will be on display at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
Alaia first hit the water at the Feadship shipyard as Excellence in 1986, showcasing her all-white exterior profile by Frits De Voogt and De Voogt Naval Architects. In 2013, she began an extensive rebuild from the hull up, which was completed in 2020 and cost in excess of $13 million.
Work included an extension to the hull and the addition of a lazarette, the replacement of pipework, wiring and steel plates, the installation of two new main engines and zero-speed stabilisers and new navigational equipment. Further work was completed in 2022 to "elevate her to modern standards", according to her broker.
Accommodation on board this classic yacht for sale is for a total of 13 guests in five cabins, with additional quarters for a crew of 11. The largest cabin is a full-beam master suite on the main deck, featuring a centreline king-size bed with built-in nightstands on either side, facing a 60-inch flatscreen television. The suite is complete with a full-width en suite bathroom, wardrobe and built-in vanity.
An additional four guest cabins can be accessed via a stairway on the starboard side of the main saloon that leads to a guest foyer with a bar and refrigerator. A VIP stateroom to port contains a queen-size berth and the remaining three cabins are configured as twins with an additional Pullman berth in each.
In terms of living areas, the main saloon is host to a large L-shaped sofa and armchairs, with a games table for two to aft. Forward is a formal dining table for ten with the galley and pantry positioned behind the bulkhead.
Above, the skylounge offers additional relaxed seating around a television and a bar for more informal afternoons of enjoyment. Outside, an al fresco dining table for six, a sofa and a large sunpad comprise the spacious upper deck aft.
Further al fresco dining is offered on the main deck aft and seats 12, alongside a bar and sofa for pre-dinner aperitifs. Other highlights include a four-person Jacuzzi on the sundeck forward of the mast flanked by two large sunpads, also serviced by a full bar and barbecue area.
Her broker noted: "Today, Alaia represents one of the most exceptional Feadship opportunities on the market: a rare, genuinely turn-key vessel that seamlessly blends iconic heritage with modern luxury and proven reliability."
Power comes from a pair of C32 Caterpillar 660hp engines, which give her a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 13 knots. Key specs include a 7.8-metre beam and a draft of 2.8 metres.
On display at Cannes Yachting Festival, Alaia is asking €10,800,000.
