The 51.05 metre Davie expedition yacht Beauport, jointly listed for sale by All Ocean Yachts and Fraser, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Joaquin Genrich of Fraser.
She was built by Davie Shipbuilding for the Canadian Coast Guard in steel and delivered in 1960 with light ice breaking capabilities. She spent her first 30 years operating in freshwater on the St Lawrence Seaway, originally accommodating a crew of 34. In 1993, a multi-million dollar rebuild saw her interior converted to superyacht standards, and she has been upgraded several times since with the most recent refit undertaken in 2010.
The 1993 rebuild saw several crew cabins removed, and she now has a large main saloon replacing three cabins with a conference area and entertainment centre including a large Mitsubishi television screen. The paneling and joinery are in stained cherry wood. To starboard is the main dining saloon with two large wine racks as well as built-in china and glass cupboards on the aft bulkhead, while the dining table seats 12 guests. The interior was remodelled during the summer of 2000 and features large rectangular windows that replaced four of the five portlights that were originally installed.
Immediately aft of the pilot house is the fully air conditioned skylounge. This area has large bronze framed windows as well as a teak and holly sole, while to starboard is a wet bar and fridge.
Beauport offers accommodation in 10 cabins for 16 guests including an owners' suite with its own private deck. Twin 640hp Fairbanks Morse engines give her a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Beauport was asking $1,795,000.
