New Sanlorenzo SX88 motor yacht sold to the UK

2 July 2021 • Written by Holly Overton

A new 26.7 metre Sanlorenzo SX88 motor yacht has been sold by Sanlorenzo  UK and is the first to be delivered to the United Kingdom.

The SX88 is built in GRP and made its debut in 2017 as the flagship of the SX range. The model is described as a crossover between a compact explorer yacht and a flybridge yacht, characterised by a reverse windscreen, floor-to-ceiling windows and a large aft deck. Its muscular exterior comes from the boards of Officina Italiana Design with interiors designed in-house by Sanlorenzo.

A teak-clad stern can be used for storing tenders and toys that are launched and recovered by a hidden crane integrated into the superstructure. Once launched, the area becomes a 30 sqm beach club or waterside dining area complete with a hydraulic swim platform.

The helm is positioned on the flybridge and the area can be left open to the elements or closed entirely, with air conditioning and automatically operated side windows.

Inside, guests are greeted by a large saloon with floor-to-ceiling windows affording ocean views from every angle. A four-cabin layout can accommodate up to eight guests, comprising an owner's suite, forward VIP and two twin cabins.

Ashley Overton, sales director for Sanlorenzo UK, said: “We are very pleased that with this sale, and other discussions already at advanced stages, Sanlorenzo in the UK has gained so much traction in such a short period of time. It is a sure sign that British owners are ready for something different, and something extra-special to be added to their shortlists.”

Nick Hatfield, sales manager for Sanlorenzo UK, says: “The first UK based Sanlorenzo SX88 has now arrived here where she will undergo her pre-delivery inspection before being handed over to her new owners, ready for a summer of cruising the south coast of the UK from her home berth in Lymington.”

Powered by three Volvo IPS1050-800HP, the SX88 has a fast-cruising speed of 18-20 knots with a maximum speed of 23 knots.

The yacht will be based in the UK and will be offered for charter.
