A 41.7 metre new-build motor yacht project named the Cape Scott 137 has been listed for sale by Tim Quinlan at Ocean Independence.
To be built in steel and aluminium by the Cape Scott yard to a design by Stephen Seaton, this yacht for sale will be Lloyds classed, MCA compliant and ice-classed, with delivery scheduled for 2017. Accomodation will be for 12 guests in six double cabins including a master and VIP suite and all cabins will have full en suite bathroom facilities.
As a semi-custom project, a buyer would have the opportunity to refine the layout and include custom features as required. The interior systems and décor are to superyacht standards with the added benefit of commercial style plumbing and electrical systems to give years of trouble fee service. All Cape Scott Yachts are built to Lloyds Registry 100A1 class and supplied with an ice class 1C armoured steel hull. Each hull is divided into six watertight and fireproof compartments so that in the unlikely event of flooding or fire any damage is contained to minimise danger. Four separate bilge pump circuits and an advanced fire suppression system quickly resolve any safety threat.
In addition, propellers and rudders are protected by reinforced structural steel kegs and shoes. This is particularly important for running in ice fields and the yard can also offer a higher spec ice propeller as required for astern manoeuvring in ice fields. Propulsion will come from twin 1,014hp Caterpillar engines giving a maximum speed of 15 knots and a range of 6,200 nautical miles.
The Cape Scott 137 is asking €21 million.
