€500k price drop on new 42m Mengi Yay sailing yacht Legato

2 July 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

A €500,000 price drop has been announced on the new 42-metre Mengi Yay sailing yacht Legato, listed for sale with David Legrand and Alain Auvare of Fraser

The RINA-classed superyacht was delivered just over a year ago in May 2024, as a new addition to the shipyard's flagship sailing series, constructed with a steel hull and aluminium composite superstructure. Ginton Naval Architects penned her low, navy profile and were also responsible for her naval architecture.

Legato is now asking €13,500,000.

She was commissioned by a "seasoned owner" who sought a yacht with "the perfect harmony between being together [with family] and cruising comfortably and efficiently". Her name is a symbol of this, meaning "tie together", in honour of the bond between family and friends.

An interior by Wetzels Brown Partners accommodates 10 guests across a five-cabin layout on board the yacht for sale, including a centrally located owner's cabin with a his and hers en suite and a walk-in wardrobe. The remaining guest accommodation comprises two VIPs and two double cabins and there are further quarters for a crew of six.

The main deck is host to an open plan main saloon and a relaxed dining area forward. Her interior follows a somewhat contemporary scandi-chic design, with plenty of curved, low-profile furniture and matte light wood adorning her walls.

The ambience is notably relaxed, with the dining space integrated with the interior helm station and galley space, and there is plenty of natural light thanks to the repeated large windows. Guests will also find a massage room on board.

A large sundeck above and a large swimming platform add to the family atmosphere onboard Legato - the former host to a bar and sunpads. The aft deck is also a highlight, fitted with a curved sofa and an al fresco dining table for 10. Another sofa and dining table can be found on the foredeck, in addition to storage for a jet ski and water toys.

The sailing yacht is powered by twin YANMAR engines delivering 911hp each; she cruises comfortably at 10 knots and can reach a top speed of 15 knots.

Legato is now asking €13,500,000.
