39m Palmer Johnson motor yacht Aphrodite finds new owner

3 January 2024 • Written by Nick Jeffery

The 39-metre Palmer Johnson tri-deck motor yacht Aphrodite, previously Kimberly, has been sold in-house by  Kevin Merrigan, Todd Rittenhouse and Wes Sanford at Northrop & Johnson.

Aphrodite was last asking $3,200,000.

Built in aluminium by US yard Palmer Johnson to a design by Vripack, she was delivered in 2000 and refitted several times since, most recently in 2021 when her hull was repainted. An interior in warm cherrywood accommodates up to 10 guests in five cabins comprising a full-beam master suite, VIP suite, double and a twin, all with Samsung television screens and en suite bathroom facilities. A separate en suite office also serves as a cabin for two guests.

The full-beam main saloon has a bar to starboard and two large sofas to port, with coffee tables, while a formal dining area occupies the forward space. The sky lounge, located just aft of the pilothouse, is a large volume space with a massive L-shaped sofa, an 80-inch television screen, a large bar and a dedicated exercise area. Aft of the sky lounge is the boat deck, featuring a U-shaped settee with two different sets of varnished teak tables and a built-in barbecue grill.

The sundeck is located just above the boat deck and offers a Jacuzzi, two large sun pads and plenty of space for deck chairs. Her top speed is 18 knots and her power comes from two 1,800hp MTU 16V2000M90 diesel engines.

Aphrodite was asking $3,200,000.
