The 39.32 metre expedition yacht Safira, listed for sale with Flavio Constantino at Camper & Nicholsons International, has had a price reduction of $250,000.

Designed by Sparkman & Stephens, Safira was built in steel and aluminium by US yard Newcastle Marine to ABS class and unrestricted MCA code with an ice-strengthened hull and was delivered in 2013. The winner of an award for naval architecture at the 2014 ShowBoats Design Awards, this yacht for sale is a global explorer with remarkable engineering, excellent seakeeping qualities and a host of eco-friendly attributes.

Safira is now asking $16,750,000

Power is delivered by Schottel Rudder propeller azipod drives that are 20% more efficient than conventional shafts. Energy-efficient electrical specifications allow smaller generators to be carried, in turn reducing fuel consumption. Even the woodwork and decking is not as it seems. In place of teak is an environmentally friendly Dutch product called Esthec which provides sound insulation to lower decks. Dynamic positioning using GPS enables Safira to stay precisely in place without anchoring, which is ideal when cruising environmentally delicate areas.

She accommodates 10 guests in five cabins with the full-beam master suite located deliberately below decks amidships, the position of least movement on board: perfect for those who prefer cabins for sleeping rather than admiring the views. All have entertainment centres and en suite bathroom facilities

To round off her green credentials, her twin Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines can run on 15 per cent bio diesel and she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers

Safira is now asking $16,750,000.
