5 July 2018 • Written by Malcolm Maclean

The 29.5 metre sailing yacht Scorpius, jointly listed for sale by Ocean Independence and dahm international, has had a price reduction of €50,000.

Built in steel and aluminium by Dutch yard Jongert to a design by Peter Sijm, Scorpius was delivered in 1991 with a comprehensive refit in 2012. Accommodation is for six guests in three maple- panelled cabins configured as a master suite and two twins, all with entertainment centres and en suite shower facilities. In addition, there are quarters for four crewmembers aboard this yacht for sale.

Scorpius is now asking €1,450,000

The deckhouse comes with two settees and tables and a navigation station plus an entertainment centre while the cockpit offers an excellent al fresco observation and relaxation area.

On the technical side, she is fitted with a 37 metre Nirvana aluminium mast, Navtec rod rigging, a hydraulic roller reefing system and a full wardrobe of Doyle sails. Under power, a 300hp Mercedes diesel engine allows a cruising speed of 9 knots, topping out at 12 knots.

Her brokers comment; “The yacht is majestically smooth to sail at any speed thanks to her hydraulic furling system for all sails and the retractable bowthruster.”

Lying in Istanbul, Turkey, Scorpius is now asking €1,450,000 with VAT paid.
