Quantum of Solace for sale with Merle Wood and OCI

12 August 2009 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

On July 30th I announced the sale of Benetti's Midlandia and her change of name to Quantum of Solace and now I learn that she's on the market again as a joint central agency with John Cohen at Merle Wood & Associates and Michael White and Peter Thompson of Ocean Independence. Built in 2001, she benefits from several recent upgrades, including new zero speed stabilisers, rebuilt generators and a full soft furniture interior refit. She also has new audio/visual systems throughout and her sundeck has had a complete refit including a new deck and Jacuzzi.

Accommodating up to 14 guests in six staterooms, Quantum of Solace is currently lying in Palm Beach, Florida and is asking $24.995 million. And the reason for her sale? According to Peter Thompson the owner has enjoyed a terrific summer on the yacht and his upgrades have transformed her. Basically, says Peter " The owner is already looking at buying a larger vessel"

_Quantum of Solace _has recently been renamed into Elysium.
