Hot news, as Rory Trahair at Edmiston & Company calls to say that Chris Cecil-Wright, acting for both buyer and seller, closed today on the sale of the 65.22m motor yacht Trident, a joint listing with Merle Wood & Associates.

Trident was launched by Feadship's Royal Van Lent yard in 2009 with a sumptuous Donald Starkey interior. This state-of-the-art superyacht can accommodate 14 guests in seven staterooms and is Lloyds classed and MCA compliant. The asking price was €87 million.

Incidentally, this sale takes the total asking prices of brokerage yachts sold in 2010 past the €2 billion mark, which is already more than the whole of 2009 (€1.84 billion).
