The 24.86 metre sailing yacht Ammonite has been sold by Southern Wind Brokerage with Corrado di Maio from Equinoxe International introducing the buyer.
Built by South African shipyard SWS, Ammonite was delivered in 2016 as the third hull in its SW82 series. RINA classed and MCA compliant, the composite sailing yacht features naval architecture by Farr Yacht Design with exteriors and interiors penned by Nauta Design.
Ammonite is no stranger to the racing circuit, winning the 2018 New Zealand Millennium Cup and, more recently, competing at the SWS Trophy in Porto Cervo in June 2019. Well equipped for racing, she features a high modulus carbon mast, EC6+ Carbon rigging and racing winches, to ensure optimal sailing performance both in light and strong wind conditions.
Below deck, guests will find a bright, open plan main saloon with two coffee tables, one of which converts into a dining table, the other flips to reveal a custom made wooden Scrabble table. Her sophisticated interior features bleached oak furniture with wengé and carbon fibre inserts, chocolate leather and polished stainless steeling details.
She can accommodate up to seven guests in three cabins, consisting of a forward master suite, forward VIP with a foldaway bunk, and another guest cabin amidships.
Made for adventure, she recently completed a circumnavigation and has sailed over 40,000 miles in three years. She has a lifting keel allowing her to access shallow bays and a tender garage for a clean deck during long-distance navigation.
She has a top speed of 11 knots powered by a single 190hp Steyr diesel engine.
The asking price for Ammonite has been withheld.
