As Dutch boat builder Amels celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, we pick some of the yard’s standout boats through the ages...

Despite establishing in 1918, it wasn’t until 1982 that Amels delivered its first superyacht, the 48.2 metre Katalina, now named Lady Georgina. With accommodation for 16 guests and 13 crew, Lady Georgina features naval architecture and exterior design by Diana Yacht Design and underwent a refit in 2007.

Named after the legendary warrior queen, Boadicea is one of the largest yachts to be built by Amels in terms of her 2,130 GT. The 70.5 metre yacht features exterior and interior design by Terence Disdale and can accommodate 12 guests with a staff of 26 crew and a captain. Combining power and beauty, the yacht underwent a refit in 2014 and has a top speed of 15.7 knots.

Featuring design by RWD, 74 metre Ilona clocked up almost 150,000 nautical miles from all corners of the globe. Her extensive 2012 refit saw her below-decks helicopter hangar replaced by a swimming pool with a moveable floor and a new helipad created in the top deck aft. Ilona also features accommodation for 18 guests, 28 crew and a 30 square metre owner’s deck.
