Italian yacht builder Arcadia Yachts has expanded its construction premises as it aims to ramp up production. The boatbuilder’s production area now includes a new site next to the current facility in Naples.
The yard’s combined production facilities now stretch over 47,000 square metres and include facilities for hauling out and launching near the shipyard.
The yard has also acquired 21% of the Marina di Torre Annunziata. It described the acquisition and expansion as “strategic” moves aimed at increasing the number of yachts under production at the yard.
Arcadia director Ugo Pellegrino said the company had “seized the opportunity” to expand. “To increase production capacity, to develop larger products without altering the Arcadia DNA and to continue having a solid and direct relationship with our customers are the reasons behind this operation.”
The yard said the 21% acquisition of the marina will enable it to focus on its post-sales division and claimed that 40% of clients have asked Arcadia to carry out winter maintenance of their yachts this year.
Pellegrino added: “It was almost automatic for us to identify the acquisition of 21% of the Marina di Torre Annunziata as a fundamental option for the natural growth of our activities, in line with our principles and with what we have done so far.”
