Benetti sells first Diamond 145
by Miranda Blazeby
Italian yard Benetti has announced the sale of the first unit of its Diamond 145 model.
The 44 metre displacement yacht was first revealed at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival and is now the flagship of the yard’s Class line.
The yacht was started on spec and is currently under construction in Viareggio for delivery in early 2020.
Sporting exterior lines designed by Giorgio M Cassetta, the yacht features extensive glazed surfaces that provide the interior with ample natural light.
The “refined and dynamic” superstructure is paired with “high hull sides”, with large windows in the saloons, guest accommodation and owner’s cabin.
The customised "cosmopolitan" interiors feature “curved lines”. The main deck full beam master cabin is equipped with a large wardrobe, full beam bathroom and office at the bow area.
The galley and services area meanwhile sit amidships with a big saloon aft. The dining area has been moved to the upper deck.
Guest accommodation sits on the lower deck, with four double cabins and a separate area for crew.
A pair of 1,400 hp Man engines provide a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots, with a range of 3,800 nautical miles.
