Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche has announced the sale of its third Flexplorer model.
The Flexplorer 146 has been commissioned by a Swiss owner with an "unbound passion for big game fishing" and will build on the success of the shipyard's Flexplorer line.
The first hull in the Flexplorer range, named Aurelia, picked up a World Superyacht Award in 2021 for Displacement Motor Yachts 499GT and Below, 30m to 39.9m. The second unit was sold in November 2020 under the name Maverick with delivery slated for 2023.
Exterior lines have been designed by Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec with "understated" interiors imagined by Nauta Design. The Flexplorer 146 will accommodate up to ten guests split between five cabins, including an owner's stateroom positioned on the main deck forward with an office, dressing room and large bathroom. The main saloon will feature an asymmetric layout with a passageway down the port side.

Instead, the area will be reserved for an "immense" social space equipped with sunbeds. The shipyard also promises the new model to feature "fresh ideas" and "pioneering applications of innovative features".
Power will come from twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines delivering over 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The yacht features a low-resistance underbody with bulbous bow that adds comfort in rough seas and efficiency during long passages.
“This Flexplorer will be a testament to the intrinsic values of this range: simplicity, functionality, no-nonsense engineering and subtle and timeless elegance,” says Ennio Cecchini, chief executive of Cantiere delle Marche.
Co-founder Vasco Buonpensiere says the Flexplorer line has had "extraordinary success" since the launch of the first hull in 2020. "Meeting the client who decided to purchase this Flexplorer 146 was an honour and a joy because we know that we share the same vision about yachting. Building his yacht will be a great experience for all of us at CdM. He is a real yachtsman and he is a trendsetter in the highly profiled and exclusive community he belongs to.”
