Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has revealed more details on the second of three Flexplorer 146 models currently in build at the Italian shipyard.

The sale of the Flexplorer 146-35 was announced in November 2021 and was been commissioned by a Swiss owner with an "unbound passion for big game fishing".

Unlike its sisterships, this particular model will not carry an A-Frame on the aft deck. Instead, the area will be reserved for an "immense" social space equipped with sunbeds, fold-down bulwarks and a jib crane concealed in the superstructure.

Exterior lines have been designed by Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec with "understated" interiors imagined by Nauta Design. The Flexplorer 146 will accommodate up to 10 guests split between five cabins, including an owner's stateroom positioned on the main deck forward with an office, dressing room and large bathroom.

The designers opted for a natural palette with bleached corrugated wood cabinetry, light linens and loose furniture, while the main and upper saloons both feature an asymmetric layout.

Power will come from twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines delivering over 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The yacht features a low-resistance underbody with a bulbous bow that adds comfort in rough seas and efficiency during long passages.

Co-founder Vasco Buonpensiere says the Flexplorer line has had "extraordinary success" since the launch of the first hull in 2020. "Meeting the client who decided to purchase this Flexplorer 146 was an honour and a joy because we know that we share the same vision about yachting. Building his yacht will be a great experience for all of us at CDM. He is a real yachtsman and he is a trendsetter in the highly profiled and exclusive community he belongs to.”
