Columbus Yachts, a brand of Palumbo Superyachts, has announced the launch of the first unit in its 38-metre Atlantique series, now officially christened Principessa Capricciosa. According to BOATPro, the new build is slated for delivery to her European owner this summer.
With a silhouette that "recalls the sailing yachts of other times", the Atlantique 38's clean, and slightly sporty, exterior is owed to Milanese studio Hot Lab, with naval engineering completed in-house. The model stands as the "most compact" offering in the Atlantique line, which ranges from yachts up to 65 metres.
The first unit from the 38-metre, all-aluminium line was last seen in 2024 when her hull and superstructure were joined, almost a year after her sale was confirmed in 2023, with Assia and Salvatore Mele of Mele Yacht introducing the buyer to the yard.
The 299GT yacht is fitted with two dining areas – one on the external main deck and the other on the upper – which can accommodate up to 10 guests. A "peculiarity" previously pointed out by the shipyard is the upper deck's rounded windows, which, with an up-down and lateral movement, can be closed or opened to circulate a sea breeze.
Accommodation is across four double cabins on the lower deck and a main deck owner's cabin with two bathrooms, a central shower, a walk-in wardrobe and a private terrace. Meanwhile, six crew plus the captain are accommodated in four cabins. Full details of her interior are yet to be disclosed.
On deck, the recessed stern area sits just 50cm above the water, allowing for easy access off and on board. A garage is located on the stern's starboard side and hosts a five-metre tender and a jet ski.
With a semi-planing hull and twin 2000hp MAN engines, Principessa Capricciosa is expected to reach a maximum speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 19 knots.
According to BOATPro, Columbus Yachts has three yachts currently under construction, including the second 38-metre Atlantique unit. The shipyard celebrated the launch of its first Crossover 42 model, Big Naan, last year.
