Derecktor launches 85m superyacht Cakewalk

9 August 2010 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Launched on August 7th in a private ceremony at Derecktor’s Bridgeport, Connecticut yard, Cakewalk is, at 85.6 metres, the largest superyacht to be built in the United States since the 1930s and is also the largest yacht for her experienced owners. This steel, 17-knot full-displacement yacht was built to evoke the elegance of a previous age and full-scale hospitality and comfort are the driving force behind her design by Tim Heywood.

The grand saloon on the main deck carries the drawing room grace of a stately home, including a fireplace, grand piano, and a separate dining room. Six guest cabins are located on the main deck with oversized windows to maximise ocean views. The master suite includes a king-size bed, separate sitting room, and his-and-hers en suites.

Tenders include a limited edition Riva AquaRiva 100 ‘Cento’, an Intrepid Custom 350 Open, and a Vikal Custom Limousine.
