Moonen has delivered its latest creation, the Moonen 82 Alu (YN 196), a 25.2 metre fast displacement motor yacht called My Way.
My Way is a customised version of the Moonen 82 Alu platform developed by naval architects Stolk Marimecs and exterior designer René van der Velden.
'We were greatly impressed with the flexibility of the yard and its designers,' said the owner, who was deeply involved in the project from the start. 'My Way is a fine example of customisation.'
The original platform for the Moonen 82 Alu specified a top speed of 21 knots, but in accordance with the owner's wishes the hull was slightly modified to reach a top speed of 25 knots as well as reduce fuel consumption at low speeds. As a result, the yacht's twin 1,000kW MAN engines achieve a cruising speed of 19 knots, and a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots, using only 10,000 litres of fuel.
Designed by Art-Line, My Way's interior accommodates six guests in three cabins: a full-beam master, a VIP forward, and a twin.
The owner's wife, who was involved in its development, commented: 'As the interior took shape it was hugely impressive to see the quality of the finish. The Moonen craftsmen did a wonderful job in creating a warm and cosy atmosphere on board with lots of cherrywood panelling and beautiful upholstery.'
Describing some of the special details she said: 'In the main lounge we installed an interactive mirror that spans the entire wall of the dining area. This allows guests sitting at the table with their backs to the entrance to enjoy a fine reflection of the interior. At the press of the button, however, the mirror can be transformed into a television, a digital picture or a map of our current route.'
My Way has now been delivered to her Russian owners.
