72m Feadship project Sakura sold in six weeks

Dutch yard Feadship has announced the sale of the 71.7-metre Sakura, with Burgess bringing the client.  The new build was already under construction at the yard when she entered the market just six weeks ago.

“From the moment we released information about Sakura last May there were several clients who jumped at the opportunity, including her new owner,” commented Maarten Janssen, Feadship’s sales director. "He was attracted by the relatively short delivery time and the opportunity to bypass the waiting list. He loved the exterior and interior design, and the yacht totally fit what he was looking for in terms of layout for family use. A perfect fit, in other words.”

Richard Lambert, head of sales at Burgess added:  “It has been a pleasure to have worked hand in hand with the new owner and Feadship for project Sakura and we are looking forward to a continued close collaboration for the completion of this stunning new build project.”

Named after the Japanese cherry blossom, Sakura blends the East and West in a marriage of "Scandinavian warmth" and "Japanese minimalism", the yard has previously said. Guests boarding from the swim platform can either ascend the staircase to enter the yacht from the main deck – complete with a seven-metre swimming pool – or, with the touch of a button, the steps open to reveal a dedicated wellness area at the heart of the vessel with dual accessibility through the beach club and main staircase.

Sakura's interior, designed by Italian studio FM Architettura d'Interni, embraces the "Japandi" style with its use of modern furnishings decorated by light, earthy tones. In a series of renders released by the yard, an unconventional layout sees both the formal dining and lounge areas sitting longitudinally along the main deck saloon, raising the capacity for onboard social gatherings.

Accommodation is spread across seven cabins, including two VIP suites and four additional staterooms on the main deck that have been strategically placed to maximise the amount of natural light entering each cabin. A dedicated owner's deck houses the master suite with wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows supplying panoramic views.

Up top, the sundeck boasts a second pool with large sunpads forward, as well as a spacious aft deck for dining and relaxation underneath a large overhang.

Sakura, also known as Project 827, is scheduled for delivery in summer 2025.

According to BOATPro, Feadship has 16 projects in the works across its four construction sites, including the 67-metre Feadship Project 823, which was recently spotted undergoing sea trials.
