Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts has announced the delivery of the first unit in its Bilgin 170 series, Tamasha. The 52-metre new build will now embark on her maiden season cruising in the Mediterranean.
A collaboration between Unique Yacht Design (for the exterior and naval architecture) and Hot Lab (for the interiors), Tamasha is based on the design of the Bilgin 163 – one of which is the 50-metre Eternal Spark, launched in 2024. According to the yard, she represents a "bold evolution in design", born from close collaboration with her owner and specifically designed as both a "personal statement and a social hub".
The Bilgin 170 offers an identical layout to the Bilgin 163, but benefits from more space, a bold bow design and a sporty silhouette. The bridge deck has been extended by one and a half metres, the bow offers an additional relaxation area once the rescue boat is deployed, and an extended swim platform offers a larger space at the water's edge.
A distinctive light brown hull also sets Tamasha apart (a first of this colour for the yard), as does her sundeck – "one of the largest in this size range" – with its eight-person Jacuzzi, dining area and bar.
Accommodation is for up to 12 guests and nine crew, with the owner's cabin situated on the bridge deck. Her interiors remain private, though Hot Lab describes them as a "sanctuary of contemporary elegance" with large volumes and bounds of natural light, centred on a lifestyle-driven experience.
“The vision for Tamasha was to create a yacht that is both a personal statement and a social hub," explained Emrecan Özgün of Unique Yacht Design. "Her distinctive light brown hull was chosen to create a stunning, organic harmony with the water. Every line and space was designed in direct response to the owner's lifestyle, prioritising expansive areas for entertainment and socialising, and ensuring that life onboard is intimately connected to the sea.”
Nikolay Kondratiev, the owner’s representative, added: “This was one of the best projects in my life in terms of cooperation with the yard's team. A high level of proficiency and responsibility of workers, supported by a great corporate working culture and reliable top management, allowed us to deliver the client the best yacht Bilgin has ever built on their fifty-metre platform.”
According to BOATPro, there are 13 other yachts currently under construction at the Turkish shipyard, including four Bilgin 173s and seven Bilgin 170s. The second Bilgin 170 series, Ada, is also scheduled for delivery imminently.
