Bilgin Yachts has announced the delivery of the second unit from its Bilgin 170 series, Ada. According to the Turkish yard, the 52-metre new build departed its Antalya facilities at the start of the summer, embarking on her first season cruising the Aegean and Mediterranean coastlines.
Ada was launched in December 2025, two years after the yard announced her sale in November 2023 to a first-time client. The semi-custom, steel and aluminium build is the result of a collaboration between Bilgin Yachts, Emrecan Özgün of Unique Yacht Design and Milanese interior designer Hot Lab and is based on the Bilgin 163 series, with an identical layout but a more traditional bow design to improve exterior space.
“Our goal with the 170 series was to offer the exterior spaces typically found on 60-metre yachts within a sub-500 GT platform,” explained Özgün, founder of Unique Yacht Design. “Ada is sleek, sexy and modern. We focused on maximising the transition between luxury indoor and outdoor living, ensuring a design that remains contemporary and relevant even ten years from now.”
The yacht has been developed with an efficient displacement hull to deliver the attributes of the Bilgin 170 platform: optimised hydrodynamics, long-range capability and high levels of onboard comfort. Ada follows the first in the series, the light brown-hulled Tamasha, which was delivered in May.
Read More/First Bilgin 170 superyacht Tamasha deliveredAccording to the shipyard, the sundeck is "one of the largest in its size range" and has been designed with an eight-person Jacuzzi, a dining area and a bar. The bridge deck has also been extended by one and a half metres, while the bow offers an additional relaxation area once the rescue boat is deployed. An extended swim platform also offers more space at the water's edge.
"The Bilgin 170 series offers a captivating balance of style, functionality and craftsmanship," explained Enrico Lumini, design director of Hot Lab. "What defines modern luxury is the intelligent layering of materials and textures, creating interiors that feel inviting, elegant and timeless."
The Bilgin 170 offers an interior volume of 499GT, with approximately 20 per cent more usable volume than yachts in the 48-meter range, according to the shipyard. Accommodation on board Ada is for up to 12 guests, including a generous owner’s suite on the extended bridge deck, with Hot Lab opting for "rich textures, soft tonal transitions and carefully selected materials" to define her interior.
"Details that were once custom requests, such as the forward anchor observation pockets and the oversized gangway typically reserved for 80-metre yachts, have now become standard due to their success," explained Alper Eroğlu, senior project manager of Bilgin Yachts. "We even integrated a dedicated garbage room in the bow – a feature virtually unseen in previous 50-metre yachts."
Power for the new build is from twin CAT IMO Tier 2 engines, providing a maximum speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Exclusive data from BOATPro revealed the shipyard to have 16 yachts currently under development, including its new flagship, the 82-metre Project Bond. The fourth in-build Bilgin 170, known as NB85, was sold by brokerage firm Fraser earlier this year.
