The 55 metre Amels yacht Galene has been delivered and is underway for Gibraltar.
The yacht is the latest hull in Amels' Limited Editions 180 series and is named after the Ancient Greek word meaning 'serenity, tranquility, calmness'.
Sold in January 2019, Galene is the 25th hull in Limited Editions 180 series. “The owner will be exploring many destinations around the world,” said Rutger Dolk from the Amels sales team. “He was looking for a yacht that was built to travel the world."
Galene was designed by Tim Heywood and features 'calm' and 'subtly art-deco' interiors by Laura Sessa. She can accommodate up to 12 guests in five cabins. An extended version of the 177 model, she offers an enlarged sun deck which is now 25 metres long and has 155 square metres of relaxation space.
Project Manager Elouise Reiff said: “The team did the name Galene justice. I am very proud of the hard work done by everyone involved. Through their efforts the launch went smoothly and according to plan.”
Galene will be available for charter in the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter with Y.CO
