German Naval Yards, Swisship and Pascoli International unveil 93m "next-gen" yacht design

German Naval Yards (GNY), Swisship Yacht Projects and Pascoli International have unveiled a new 93-metre superyacht concept known as Koa.

The concept has been designed for the next generation of large superyacht owners, drawing on GNY's experience in building technically ambitious superyachts such as the 142.8-metre Sailing Yacht A and the 114.1-metre in-build yacht Project ELF, which was acquired by the yard in October this year.

Koa is characterised by a clean and architectural profile decorated with extensive straight windows, flush glass installations and floating glass-panel railings. The contemporary finish of the design is made complete with a navy hull, white superstructure and flush teak decks.

Key specs include a beam of 14.6 metres and a draught of four metres

"Designed to blend elegance with purpose, our new superyacht concept epitomizes a lifestyle that seamlessly marries luxury and functionality," explained Kristian Pascoli, founder of Pascoli International. "This vision caters to the next generation of owners who seek not only exquisite design, but also an unparalleled connection to the sea, ensuring that the experience is as unforgettable as the vessel itself."

The main feature of Koa's near 3,500GT design can be found on the main deck aft, which is fitted with a glass-bottomed pool that illuminates the beach club below – with its two drop-down terraces and opening transom – in natural light. Here, there is a watersports and dive centre and a gym, alongside generous crew zones for up to 32 crew.

The aft beach lounge of the main deck is easily connected to the pool deck and the upper-deck lounge via a double-height atrium-cum-floating feature staircase. Forward of the main deck lies six guest suites –four of which can transform into two large VIP suites with adjoining lounge spaces – and a full-beam tender garage housing two 10-metre tenders, a 6.2-metre crew boat, an MOB tender as well as additional water toys.

The sundeck is accessible via an internal staircase and also benefits from discreet crew routes for seamless service

Koa's upper deck is dedicated to amenities, featuring a full spa complex including hairdressing and massage rooms, a wet spa and a relaxation lounge overlooking the bow spa pool and sunpads. The bridge deck is multipurpose - host to the wheelhouse, captain’s cabin and ship’s office forward and an owner’s private suite aft, with a secluded terrace and panoramic views.

“The intent was to create a design that feels clean, timeless and highly functional, while offering dramatic interior volumes and interconnected spaces," added Swisship Yacht Projects' owner, Andreas Iseli. "The seamless flow from the beach club up to the double-height lounge, combined with advanced hybrid propulsion, reflects how we believe future large yachts will be experienced.”

Project ELF

Propulsion is centred on a proven hybrid platform with twin MAN engines and a two 450kW PTO/PTI system, which is expected to offer silent cruising at around 11 knots and a top speed of approximately 18 knots. Peak-load shaving, silent manoeuvring and at-anchor quiet mode will be offered from a 3 MW Corvus battery pack, while two extendable fins and a set of old-out Maglifts ensure optimal stabilisation.

“This project reflects the evolution of our shipyard," said Rino Brugge, CEO of German Naval Yards. "After the technical achievements of Sailing Yacht A and now the construction of our 114-metre Project ELF, we are excited to present a concept that demonstrates what GNY can deliver for the next generation of superyacht owners. Combining the visionary design by Andreas and Kristian, this yacht showcases our capability, craftsmanship and ambition.”

According to BOATPro, Project ELF is the only in-build project at GNY, scheduled for delivery in 2028.
