Heesen delivers superyacht Elena, formerly known as Project Margarita

10 August 2014

Heesen Yachts today delivered the 47m motor yacht Elena, previously known as Project Margarita.

Elena will shortly begin her maiden voyage to Scandinavia, before cruising the Mediterranean and ending up at the Monaco Yacht Show from 24 to 27 September, where she will be available for viewing.

‘When I came to the shipyard in Oss the first time it was love at first sight: This is going to be our home away from home on the ocean!’ says the owner of the yacht, which was sold by Heesen when she was nearing completion in May.

Frank Laupman from Omega Architects designed the interior and exterior of the Elena, which is the 10th boat in Heesen’s 47m class. She features lots of full-height windows, a skylounge with a bar and cinema screen, and an 85sqm sun deck with spa pool and al fresco dining facilities. The owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, has its own study, a walk-in wardrobe and a bathtub in the centre of its bathroom. Guests are accommodated in two twin and two double lower guest cabins.

The delivery follows intensive but successful sea trials in the North Sea two months earlier. She features zero speed stabilisers and a round bilge hull with bulbous bow. Her two MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines offer a range of 4,000nm at 12 knots.
