Italian shipyard – and brand of Palumbo Superyachts – ISA Yachts has unveiled a new 70-metre superyacht design known as Blade, marking the beginning of a collaboration with Lobanov Design, led by designer Igor Lobanov.
Described as a new interpretation of the yard’s design DNA, the yacht has been developed for the "grand sport" segment, a category defined by fast, sporty yachts with vertical or near-vertical bows. According to the shipyard, Blade has been conceived with a focus on strong identity and recognisable styling, drawing inspiration from elegant vessels of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The design is characterised by a slightly reversed, concave bow, which incorporates integrated stainless-steel detailing, concealed anchoring systems and custom-designed fairleads to maintain a clean and refined profile. Blade is presented with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a volume of around 1,300GT.
The yacht is conceived as a continuous sculptural form, with fluid lines extending from bow to stern. Hull graphics are deliberately integrated into the volume, while glazing plays a key role in the visual identity, combining dotted glass panels with a contrasting black insert positioned forward near the waterline.
The superstructure is envisioned as a composition of glass panels and dark-painted surfaces, finished with a subtle dynamic curve intended to evoke a sense of motion. Other proposed features include recessed teak detailing, custom fender elements and a transforming aft garage door that, when closed, forms a bench overlooking the sea.
The yacht’s interior arrangement places the owner’s suite aft on the upper deck, with a private terrace designed to maximise privacy and uninterrupted sea views.
Projected performance figures include a top speed of 17.5 knots, a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles, powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M53L engines.
Giuseppe Palumbo, sole director of Palumbo Superyachts, said: "ISA Blade 70 metres represents a new interpretation of the ISA Yachts DNA and a project of significant strategic value. The collaboration with Lobanov Design is rooted in a shared vision of strong design, identity and innovation."
According to Giuseppe, the design signals a broader partnership between ISA Yachts and Lobanov Design, with further, larger projects already in development.
This follows a previous announcement of a new superyacht line from Palumbo in collaboration with Italian studio Luca Dini Design & Architecture, named Timeless.
