Jay Aberdoni unveils 78m superyacht concept with New York-inspired "listening lounge"

18 September 2026 • Written by Éilis Cronin

Yacht designer Jay Aberdoni has unveiled a new 78.6-metre superyacht concept called Sihaya, developed in collaboration with New York-based interior designer Reddymade.

According to Aberdoni, the yacht has been designed as a "minimalist, modern take on elegance at sea", characterised by a simple, timeless exterior and dark, deep tones that contrast with white surfaces and mahogany details.

Twin retractable platforms open directly onto the water, effectively blurring the lines between interior and exterior spaces. Together, they form the yacht's beach club, containing a central bar, hot tub and pool and space for a dance floor.

A long bow deck sits forward, housing a helipad, a Jacuzzi area with sunpads and a recessed bow terrace overlooking the horizon.

Inside, the designer has kept nautical artisanship at the core of the design, incorporating modern materials to elevate the overall atmosphere. On the main deck, a resin bar island and dining area accompany a soft, minimal lounge pit.

The owner's deck exudes a private members' club feel, complete with a private lounge, spa and meditation space, connected by a wraparound deck.

A particular showstopper is an underwater gym, lit from below and framed by a panoramic window. The bridge deck features a unique, New York-inspired listening lounge. Here, guests can listen to music, take in the surrounding views and enjoy a drink at the bar.

For accommodation, up to 14 guests are housed across seven cabins, six of which can be found on the main deck. Crew members are housed in 10 cabins situated on the lower deck.

Aberdoni has shared several designs with BOAT International over the years, including the 100-metre Ixian, the 73-metre Day One and the 80-metre Dojo, which belongs to Oceanco's Simply Custom portfolio.
