Lürssen has completed the technical launch of the 114.2-metre superyacht Project Cosmos, which was sent down the slipway at its construction site in Rendsburg.
Project Cosmos is one of the largest yachts currently under construction and the fifth-largest of the 10 projects currently in build at Lürssen. She was commissioned by a Japanese owner and this is the first time the vessel has been seen since construction began in 2020.
The first images reveal an explorer-style profile with the superstructure positioned forward making way for a large aft deck, which is home to a swimming pool and an unusual oblong well cut into the deck.
Crowning her four decks appears to be a hemispherical observation lounge with a helipad on the bridge deck below. Her exterior is the work of Australian designer Marc Newson, whose portfolio includes the 139.7-metre Solaris.
There are seven projects over 100 metres currently in build at Lürssen including the 145-metre Project Luminance, which was seen for the first time in February.
Delivery of Project Cosmos is expected in 2025.
