Lürssen has completed the technical launch of its 101.4-metre superyacht new build Project ZIGGY in Rendsburg, Germany, unveiling her to the industry for the first time.
The German yard has revealed Harrison Eidsgaard as the design team behind the project, with the British studio responsible for both her exterior and interior design - a collaboration which Lürssen describes as "a coherent material language expressed through glass and steel".
According to the yard, Project ZIGGY was commissioned by a North American client, who was introduced by Thom Conboy & Associates. WMG is the owner’s representative throughout the build.
First images reveal the yacht's muscular five decks decorated with sloped overhangs, angular lines cascading towards the stern and extensive, slender glazing - the latter of which the yard has revealed to be among the largest structural glass elements ever fitted on a Lürssen.
Her "uncluttered" foredeck is fully certified for helioperations, while each of her aft decks are said to host "a sequence of pools and wellness spaces". The yard noted that the yacht's general arrangement and extensive list of amenities (which are currently undisclosed) have been developed to support a seven-star service over extended periods on board. "This is a high-volume yacht designed to be lived on board," a statement from the yard read. With her length, BOATPro anticipates a volume of over 4,000GT.
Project ZIGGY will now enter outfitting ahead of a 2028 delivery date. When delivered, she will sit in the top 30 largest yachts (by length) built by Lürssen.
BOATPro reports 12 superyachts on order or currently under construction at Lürssen. Amongst the list are the 102.4-metre hull 13785, also known as Jassj, which was launched in February, the 117-metre Boardwalk, which embarked on sea trials in March, and the yard's first fuel-cell superyacht, Nausicaä (ex Project Cosmos), which is expected for delivery imminently.
