Italian boat builder Novamarine has announced the sale of the first unit from its BS 260 maxi-RIB series to an Italian client. At 26 metres with a seven-metre beam, the new build will stand as the "world’s largest maxi-RIB" once delivered in 2028.
According to the shipyard, the BS 260 "redefine[s] the boundaries of the category", combining the stability and safety of large RIBs with the comfort and livability associated with larger yachts. The model stands as the largest offering from the shipyard's Black Shiver concept, which comprises six RIBs ranging from the 10-metre BS 100 to the 20.1-metre BS 200.
"The sale of the first BS 260 marks a milestone in Novamarine’s journey within the pleasure craft sector," said chairman and CEO of Novamarine, Francesco Pirro. "With this model, we have not only designed the world’s largest maxi-RIB but also sought to redefine the industry’s standards for technology and comfort."
On board, the vessel's interior spaces and exterior decks are said to be spacious and offer a welcoming, serene atmosphere throughout. Beginning at the stern, a sizable open deck is dedicated to outdoor living with fitted sofa seating and a direct, hassle-free connection to the water.
From there, the deck flows into a protected central area with twin sofas and a dining table, illuminated by natural light via large glazed side surfaces and overhead openings. According to the yard, the space has been designed not as an enclosed saloon but as a section of deck made habitable and protected. The layout below deck features three guest cabins, plus a fourth cabin dedicated to the crew for optimal privacy and onboard management.
Power will be from twin MTU engines with a collective 4,400hp, developed to provide high top speeds as well as ensuring precise handling even in challenging conditions.

Last year, Italian superyacht builder Palumbo Superyachts signed a commercial agreement with Novamarine to produce "highly customised" tenders for the group's four brands.
