Official (re)launch of superyacht Esimit Europa 2

On March 30th we covered the sale of the 29.87m sailing yacht Alfa Romeo 2 by Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage. Following this, she had a quick refit, primarily a new paint job in the colours of her new sponsor. She was renamed Esimit Europa 2 and presented to the press yesterday in the old port of Cannes.

Esimit Europa 2 was originally commissioned by legendary yachtsman Neville Crichton from Australia’s McConaghy yard with the sole intention of winning races. And win them she did, being the first to cross the line in the 2009 Sydney-Hobart and setting a new record to win the 2009 Transpac race. Built for speed, she offers little in the way of creature comforts, but there is room for 22 crew.

Esimit Europa 2 is one of the first yachts to fly the European flag. She will continue her racing life participating in the main Mediterranean regattas during the Summer. Her first appearance will be at the Giraglia Rolex Cup (St Tropez-Giraglia-Sanremo) on June 16th.
