Officina Armare Reveals Superyacht Concept A88 GranSport

15 April 2020 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

Italian design studio Officina Armare has revealed an automotive inspired 27 metre superyacht concept named the A88 GranSport.

Sporting a “sleek, modern and sportive design,” the concept is heavily influenced by automotive design, evident in multiple air intakes, a coupe-like roofline and four overwater exhausts at the stern.

Combining “sporty performance” with a “sleek exterior”, the yacht offers “a distinctive look among the populated superyacht market,” the studio said. Key features include a fibreglass hull and “frozen grey colouring”.

Power is set to come from a pair of 2,600hp MTU 16V 2000 M94 diesel engines for an estimated top speed of over 40 knots.

Accommodation meanwhile is for a total of eight guests in four cabins comprising two large masters and two twins, all with ensuites.

The first full 6.5 metre beam master includes a mini lounge area and sit-down shower. Fitted with running windows, the cabin is illuminated in natural light. The second master sits forward.

Other accommodation layouts are available and can include two or three guest cabins and a crew cabin. The interior design meanwhile is entirely customisable to the tastes of the owner.

Al fresco entertainment spaces are ample, with a large aft deck with an open air dining table. A second smaller dining area for eight guests sits on the foredeck. The spacious galley sits on the lower deck while the indoor dining area for eight sits on the main deck.

The tender garage is large enough to hold a pair of Seabobs and a Williams SportJet 435 tender.
