18 April 2010 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

Work proceeds apace on the new 28.64m Southern Wind 94 sailing yacht currently in build at South Africa's Southern Wind Shipyard, with a target launch date in late summer 2010

Reichel Pugh is responsible for the hull shape, sail plan and appendage design, while Nauta Design took care of the general concept, interior design and exterior styling.

The hull has been constructed using Southern Wind's innovative three part mould and the deck utilises a two part mould, allowing for the deck coachroof and cockpit to be fully customised.

Below deck, the areas forward and aft of the main saloon have three double staterooms for six guests and two double crew cabins.
