Italian yacht builder Riva, a brand of the Ferretti Group, has launched its first Riva 54 Metri from its Ancona facilities. Named Sairu, she marks the yard's largest project to date at 54 metres – though her volume has remained under 500GT for simpler regulatory compliance.
The Riva 54 Metri is the result of collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, Ferretti Group's strategic product committee led by Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. Her profile shares the same design DNA with other members of the Riva fleet, seen in the counter-curvature of the windows, cut-out bulwarks and a light exterior paired with dark glazing.
In a departure from the former 50 Metri flagship, Sairu features softer lines and over 370 square metres of outdoor space. At the stern, a large transformer platform with an extra-wide walkway provides access to the beach area, which is arranged with a five-metre-long swimming pool flanked by sunloungers. The welcome area on the main deck houses a large sofa, armchairs and an outdoor bar that leads to the main saloon, while the space at the bow has been designed with two large sun sofas that extend the lounge area and hide part of the technical area from guests.
Other areas of note include a sun lounge forward of the wheelhouse, with two al fresco dining options on the sundeck and the bridge deck, and a lift that connects the lower, main and upper decks. Accommodation is across four guest cabins and a "majestic master suite" at the bow on the main deck, with further quarters for 11 crew (including the captain).
Her sale was concluded in partnership with Alain Maaraoui of Sea Pros Yachts, Riva’s exclusive dealer in Kuwait
"Now every yachting enthusiast and Riva fan has a new boat to dream about," said Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. "She is a masterpiece of style that will turn heads in every marina and on every stretch of water on the planet. I’d like to congratulate everyone who worked on this extraordinary yacht that so magnificently celebrates the visionary genius of Carlo Riva and his megayacht project of the 1960s and 1970s."
According to BOATPro, Riva has 14 superyacht projects on order or under construction. Sairu (and the Riva 54 Metri series) will be the flagship of the Italian yard until 2028, when Riva launches a hybrid, 70-metre project by Officina Italiana Design.
