Numarine unveils five interior concepts for new Classic superyacht line

Turkish shipyard Numarine has lifted the lid on five interior concepts for its new range of explorer yachts, known as the Classic Line. 

The series was first unveiled to the industry in April this year, beginning with two yacht models said to build upon the yard's existing long-range platforms while introducing a "new layer of design and lifestyle expression". Long-standing Numarine collaborator Can Yalman is responsible for the exterior design, with Umberto Tagliavini behind the naval architecture.

The first models unveiled were the 38XPC and 39MXPC - both introducing a "new layer" of expression but in their own identity. The 39-metre 39MXPC emerges from the idea of enhanced onboard living, where a reimagined aft section with a Jacuzzi has been designed as a large, open terrace over the water for a more social, "Mediterranean-style" experience (hence the M in the name). The 38-metre 38XPC, meanwhile, focuses on a more classic layout inspired by gentlemen’s yachts and traditional yachting heritage.

Now, for the interior concepts – which are presented collectively as the "Numarine Atelier" – the yard has collaborated with five different international design firms: Italian studio Hot Lab, Turkish firm Ofist, Vallicelli Design in Italy, British studio Sturge & Toth and Miami-based Carla Guilhem Design.

According to Numarine, the concepts offer five "genuinely different interpretations of contemporary life"; rather than showcasing five variations of the same interior, each studio has utilised its own cultural references, proportions, materials and understanding of contemporary onboard living, while remaining within the DNA of the line.

The result is a bespoke combination of woods, stones, textiles, metals and tactile surfaces, with each concept offering a different design and colour palette; some feel warmer and more natural-led, while others have a more architectural and clean feel. Despite their differences, the yard highlighted that the entire collection is unified by comfort, functionality and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces.

"Through five very different design languages expressed through the ‘Numarine Atelier’, we can demonstrate that an explorer yacht does not have to prescribe a particular lifestyle or aesthetic," explained exterior designer Can Yalman. "You can have genuine explorer capability combined with a very sophisticated, contemporary or residential environment. For us, this is an important evolution of the explorer concept: the freedom to go further, without compromising how you want to live when you get there."

Supporting guests' physical and mental health was also a key consideration during the design process. As such, a dedicated wellness option was developed for the bathroom across each yacht in the range, comprising circadian lighting, purified air, mineral-rich water, an infrared sauna, cold therapy and restorative shower experiences. 

Patrik von Sydow, CEO at Numarine, commented: "The initial response to this Classic Line has been very encouraging, particularly because the Classic Line introduces Numarine to owners who may appreciate our philosophy and capabilities but are looking for a different aesthetic expression. We believe the five-interior concept of the ‘Numarine Atelier’ will strengthen that proposition considerably".

He continued: "We believe this will make the Classic Line relevant to a broader range of tastes and markets while keeping a clear Numarine identity at its core.  We are broadening the definition of what a Numarine can be and are so excited for the industry’s reaction this show season."

According to BOATPro, the yard currently has two yachts in build, a 39.4-metre 40MXP and a 37.1-metre 37XP. The shipyard shared a first look inside the second unit from the flagship 40MXP series, Mitan, ahead of her global debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March.
