Polish yard Sunreef Yachts has taken the opportunity of this year's Monaco Yacht Show to reveal its most ambitious design to date: a 65-metre catamaran model. With a volume of 1,800GT, the 65M Explorer would be the world's largest catamaran once built and promises "extraordinary comfort, long-range efficiency and explorer-level autonomy".
The yard has translated the trademarks of its previous models into this record-breaking design, with the 65M Explorer featuring a dominant reverse bow, extensive darkened glass and curved lines. The major evolution is in its expedition capabilities, with a retractable A-frame crane enabling easy handling of large tenders, submersibles or a 13.7-metre chase boat.
The owner's suite dominates the upper deck and is arranged with floor-to-ceiling windows, a private foredeck lounge, a two-person bathtub, his-and-hers bathrooms, a walk-in wardrobe and an office. Two VIP suites and four additional guest cabins complete the available accommodation, with further quarters for 22 crew ensuring "world-class service" during expeditions.
In spite of its rugged positioning in Sunreef Yachts' lineup, the 65M Explorer has a decidedly "luxury" design. Leisure highlights span two pools – one measuring six metres – expansive indoor and outdoor lounges and a vast beach club with fold-down platforms, gym and toy storage. A moon-shaped bar on the bridge deck and a series of formal and informal dining areas enhance the sociability of the new model.
According to the yard, the catamaran hull design "truly shines" in the beach club. Steps lead down from the pool area to the swim platform, which creates a waterside gallery when lowered. There is room for a seven-metre tender and multiple Jet Skis, or the space can be transformed into a beach club with deck furniture and a parasol right at the water’s edge.
Sunreef Yachts' current flagship is the Sunreef 43M Eco, which is currently under construction with delivery slated for next year.
