Turkish yard Tansu Yachts has received a contract to build a 28 metre expedition yacht currently known as Fleetwood. While many details remain confidential, the ‘Typhoon Class’ boat will accommodate eight guests and five crew.

Engineering is currently in progress in preparation for the imminent start of construction.

Fleetwood is one of five projects currently in build at the yard, all of which have been designed by Tansu, with naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design.

The yard recently announced that another of these five projects, the 38.4 metre Tigershark One-26, has been sold and begun construction.

The yacht, which is due for delivery in 12 to 14 months, will have a full beam main deck master suite, plus accommodation for an additional six guests.

Twin 830hp Caterpillar diesel engines will allow a cruising speed of 13.5 knots and a top speed of 16 knots.

The other in-build projects, meanwhile, measure 44 metres, 34.8 metres and 38 metres.
