Third Amels 80 superyacht delivered and christened Germaine

10 July 2026 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Dutch shipyard Damen Yachting has announced the delivery of the third unit from its Amels 80 series, previously known as Project Zurich, and now christened Germaine. The 79.8-metre new build is now undertaking her maiden voyage to Falmouth, UK, according to BOATPro, after which she is expected to head to the Baltic Sea and the Norwegian fjords.

Germaine was launched at the yard's Vlissingen-East build facility in March, after which she was transported to Damen Yachting's main headquarters in Vlissingen City for final outfitting. She was sold just months after the model's unveiling in March 2022 and enjoys a "number of spectacular unique features" that set her apart from her sisterships, Netto II and Pangea, according to the yard, shaped by her owner’s distinctive vision.

The Amels 80 is the largest offering in the shipyard's popular Limited Editions range, penned with exterior design from long-time Amels collaborator Espen Øino and naval architecture by Damen Yachting.

Model highlights of the 2,175GT superyacht series include a 200-square-metre sundeck with a "substantially sized" jacuzzi, dedicated owner's deck and foredeck helipad.

Another highlight is the beach club, which serves as a fully-fledged waterfront lounge with unfolding sea terraces on three sides and direct access to a gym, hammam and sauna. The space is illuminated by the 6.5-metre, glass-bottomed pool of the main aft deck above.

In terms of interiors, Germaine's "award-winning design team" remains confidential. However, the yard indicated that her interior is refined and contemporary with a "quiet sophistication". A curation of contemporary art by international artists has also been integrated throughout.

Accommodation is for up to 14 guests in seven cabins and 21 crew, along with plenty of storage for toys and tenders.

She was first spotted en route to outfitting in January 2025

“Project Zurich has been an exceptionally rewarding yacht to bring to life," said Sander Peeters, project manager at Damen Yachting. "From the very beginning, the collaboration with the designers and the owner’s representative team was defined by clarity, trust and a remarkably fluid exchange of ideas. We are proud to have delivered Project Zurich on time, exactly on budget, and true to the original vision.”

According to BOATPro, Damen Yachting has five Amels yachts actively under construction, including third Amels 80 builds and its flagship, 120-metre Project Tanzanite, which is scheduled for delivery this year.
