Dutch yard Van der Valk has revealed the interior of its 27.3 metre Raised Pilothouse superyacht Helga, which was delivered to its owners this summer season after launching in March 2021.
The fifth hull in the range, Helga was designed inside and out by Guido de Groot and sports an instantly recognisable pastel-blue hull. Helga will be on display for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
On the interior, designer de Groot worked to a specific owner's brief, which asked for a "homely feel" rather than appear as a "luxury apartment", de Groot said.
"It is still a very modern interior, but it has some cosy touches to it, such as the wood, which is a mix between oak and walnut, giving more warmth to certain areas," he added.
de Groot pointed to Helga's wheelhouse as his favourite design element on board. "I always like designing the wheelhouse area on these yachts, as there is so much happening there. It has the entrance of the galley, the staircase going down, a modern dashboard, a dining area, staircases that go up to the wheelhouse, and much more," he said.
"It’s such a fun puzzle to design this area because it is so multifunctional, and I think it creates a spectacular first impression when you step on board."
Accommodation on board is for a total of eight guests split across four cabins, while the crew accommodation is for three in the forepeak. Elsewhere, the outdoor areas feature a helm station, large tender and lots of sunbeds, with a hydraulic swimming platform.
Additionally, the yacht features the largest propulsion package on a 26 metre Raised Pilothouse yet, with twin MTU 12V 2000 1920hp M96L engines for a top speed of 27 knots and cruising speed of 22 knots.
