Work has now commenced at the Fincantieri yard in Muggiano, La Spezia, on the 140m motor yacht, hull number 6218, codenamed Victory.

The buyer was introduced by broker Alex Lees-Buckley at Camper & Nicholsons International in late December 2009 and this represents easily the largest new project signed since the onset of the global financial crisis in 2008.

Designed by Espen Oeino with an interior by Alberto Pinto, Victory is being built to SOLAS regulations and will be one of the world's most advanced superyachts in terms of safety. Intended to be a top-of-the-range yacht, she will have seven decks, six pools of up to eight metres long and an internal floodable dock for a 14m tender.

Meanwhile, the yard is currently completing its first superyacht at 134m, hull number 6154, scheduled for launch in the next few weeks with delivery to the owner by the end of this year.
