The 111-metre Oceanco superyacht DreAMBoat, previously known as Project Y726, has been delivered. According to BOATPro, she is already cruising, with her first stop being Gibraltar.

Commissioned in 2022 by an experienced returning client, DreAMBoat emerged from Oceanco's Alblasserdam facilities as one of the largest yachts by volume ever constructed by the shipyard, with a beam of 16 metres and a volume of 4,550GT. She is the second Oceanco yacht bearing the same name for the same owner.

“At Oceanco, we believe that great yachts come from great relationships,” said Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout. “Having already built one yacht with the owner, we had a strong foundation and quickly aligned on vision. This created an enjoyable and productive environment in which the owner's dream could be realised.”

The Espen Øino-designed profile of DreAMBoat is complemented by a "warm and refined", family-focused interior from Mark Berryman, while Lateral Naval Architects developed naval architecture in partnership with Oceanco’s in-house team and the owner's long-time yachting representative, Dan Jackson of Falcon Yacht Management.

According to the shipyard, the yacht's development, design and construction stand as the shortest lead time in Oceanco’s history for this scale of project, from first discussions in November 2021 and contract signing in February 2022 to delivery in November 2025.

Oceanco credited the owner's "proactive involvement" and "highly collaborative dynamic" between all parties for the yacht's short build time, which was approximately 18 months less than the typical schedule for a full custom yacht of this size. As such, the yard noted her to be "one of the most efficient builds in Oceanco’s history".

“Through close collaboration with Oceanco and the project’s design partners, DreAMBoat stands as a testament not only to engineering enabling design at the highest level, but also to the extraordinary coordination required to align countless technical interfaces within a compressed schedule,” added Lee Archer, programme director at Lateral. “It is a clear demonstration of how complex projects succeed when expert teams come together with shared purpose.”

Accommodation is for up to 28 guests and 34 crew. Notable leisure facilities include a cinema lounge, gym and spa with sauna and steam room. Meanwhile, DreAMBoat's decks are arranged with a winter garden, covered cocktail area, outdoor cinema, private owner’s area with Jacuzzi and a multi-purpose entertainment area (also including a Jacuzzi and swimming pool). The beach club is equipped with a bar that opens directly onto the swimming platform, while up top, the sundeck is host to a state-of-the-art golf simulator at the owner’s request.

“My relationship with Oceanco started out great and only grew stronger,” shared DreAMBoat's owner. “They listened and I could feel that they cared about my personal vision. There’s something deeply rewarding about watching your ideas come to life, especially with a partner like Oceanco.”

Alongside custom additions, the owner's strong interest in sustainability encouraged the opportunity to leverage Oceanco’s expertise in this area while simultaneously driving progress across the wider industry. As a result, Oceanco has co-developed a first-of-its-kind Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool in collaboration with engineering consultancy Royal Haskoning, which measures the full carbon footprint of a yacht across both its construction and operation.

This new data enabled informed decisions throughout DreAMBoat’s design and build process to reduce the vessel's footprint, including the addition of a battery pack for optimised peak shaving and lower operational emissions, and the use of sustainable finishes onboard from Nature Squared. The LCA will now form part of Oceanco’s ongoing approach.

DreAMBoat exemplifies what is possible when all stakeholders are aligned in vision and execution,” said A.J. Anderson, CEO of Wright Maritime Group. “We are proud to play a part in delivering a truly special yacht to her owner.”

Edske Smit, Oceanco’s project director, added: “Full transparency and trusting collaboration were essential to achieving the shortest possible lead time, allowing the team to make critical decisions early and remain aligned on the objective from the outset. The owner was very engaged and proactive, with many major design decisions made within the first six to 12 months, sometimes even on the same day. The designers were equally experienced and capable of working at a fast pace, and there was strong collaboration across all parties, including our co-makers.”

“It has been a privilege for the operational crew to contribute to the owner’s inspiring vision from the very beginning of this project,” said DreAMBoat's captain, Andre Salt. “I am truly grateful to have been part of the build team for the first DreAMBoat and to have witnessed firsthand the remarkable evolution of our program."

Salt continued: "Oceanco, the designers, the owner’s team and every individual involved have created not only an engineering masterpiece but a genuine work of art. Delivering DreAMBoat in a record four years stands as a proud testament to the dedication, collaboration and shared passion for the project.”

The news comes at a busy time for Oceanco, which delivered the 111-metre superyacht Leviathan just last week.
