The Yacht Club de Monaco’s La Belle Classe Academy winter training programme is now in full swing.
Three courses on marine weather, protecting the environment and seamanship will run throughout December and be held both remotely and on site at the yacht club.
Run by a variety of experts, the Weather Lab course is aimed at maritime professionals including masters and officers of superyachts and ships. The second instalment of the course, which takes place on December 10, will focus on coastal weather and the challenges of forecasting conditions in ports and marinas.
The second is an ETYC training course on December 9 and 10 aimed to resolve how reducing the yachting industry’s impact on the environment can be reconciled with ensuring the sector’s top-quality service.
The final course on seamanship is open to everyone, both crew members and members of the public. Run by knot expert Patrick Moreay, the class teaches a variety of ropework, from modern and traditional to purely decorative.
