The best bars on board superyachts

The marble-topped bar on board 108 metre Benetti superyacht IJE is located within the atmospheric nightclub. Styled by interior designer RWD, the room features plush sofas offset by darker colours to set the scene, as well as excellent sound insulation to turn up the tunes and party the night away with a drink in hand from the well-stocked bar. The area also features a custom-made “virtual aquarium” designed by tech company Nextworks for extra effect, which displays realistic imagery of tropical marine life visible through five faux portholes.

Fitting in perfectly with the rest of the opulent interiors on board, the cocktail bar on 85 metre Lürssen superyacht Solandge is decked out with lavish stonework and ornate high chairs. Serving as a socialising space in the main saloon, the bar is finished with lilac-coloured amethyst and honey onyx. The room is also outfitted with a Bechstein piano, carefully engineered Schonbek chandeliers dripping with rose-coloured crystals and a high-end karaoke system that will rival those found in the best clubs.

The main saloon and dining room on 68 metre Ragnar have room for up to 14 guests, while hosting a British pub-style bar. Guests can draw back curtains to reveal an ocean view or, alternatively, keep them shut when the lock-ins seep into the small hours.

The 77 metre "bronzed explorer" La Datcha's main saloon bar is an incredible, iceberg-looking structure. Its four stools have a sea-view and the alcohol-station is flanked by geometric wall designs. The ice-like bar is perfect for the northerly locations the yacht sails to, but not if guests are easily triggered by James Cameron's Titanic. 

Ace's instantly recognisable interiors were penned by Andrew Winch and include a striking bar area that doubles up as a nightclub. Situated on the top deck, with a wide ranging view out onto the ocean, glamorous upholstery sits well alongside curtains and candle-style lighting. 

The world's largest trimaran, the 83 metre White Rabbit, features Art Deco references throughout her interiors. These are on full display around the huge bar in the main saloon, which is headed by a spectacular light feature that cleverly doubles as glass storage. The bar fully embraces the yacht's name with a gold leaf Alice in Wonderland scene in the ceiling.

The bar on board Sunseeker superyacht Elysium has been thoughtfully designed as the perfect place for al fresco pre-dinner drinks. The elegant, sweeping space is larger than usual for yachts of this size and is situated on the sundeck, overlooking the spa pool.

The biggest space on board 106 metre Amadea is dedicated to the owner’s cosy saloon, bar and dining area. Backlit bottles of whiskey, brandy and rum characterise the colourful bar in the main deck, which is topped off with a popcorn machine for movie nights or a happy hour snack.

Down at the water's edge, guests can spend hours on end kicking back in Dragon's impressive 200-square-metre beach club. Not only does the space open on three sides, there's also a hammam, sauna, sunloungers, and, of course, a striking bar. Inspired by the sea, the bar features backlit blue agate panels for a pop of colour, with four Tribú chairs.

The star attraction on board the 43 metre Gulf Craft 140 C'est La Vie is undoubtedly the cigar lounge in the upper saloon. Set in a decor of all Italian marble with onyx costa blanca for the floor, the bar features tobacco leaves set in backlit panels installed at the owner's request.
