The aft party: The best superyacht beach clubs in the world

As the saying goes, "business in the front, party in the back" – a sentiment that rings true on board luxury yachts. Today’s best beach clubs are the ultimate waterfront playgrounds, offering everything from cocktail bars and spa zones to toy storage and easy access to the sea. BOAT rounds up the finest examples on the water.

The beach club on board Benetti’s 70 metre Alfa is a distinct departure from traditional styles. Designed by Luxury Projects, the area has fold-down balconies on either side rather than opening at the stern – allowing those seated inside the casual lounge to enjoy a cross-breeze of the water. The area features and lounge and a giant TV screen, allowing it to double as a private cinema close to the water. The choice to design Alfa’s beach club in this way allowed for a 1.2 metre-deep infinity pool to occupy the aft section of the main deck up above.

S5's blue beach club

The vast beach club on board the fully-custom ISA superyacht S5 (ex Resilience) is one of the favourite features of designer Enrico Gobbi. The transom door and two side doors of the 65.5-metre motor yacht open flush with the swimming platform to create an indoor-outdoor space spanning over 180 square metres and with a ceiling height of over 2.1 metres. A lounge area with a frosted glass bar is dappled with light from the glass-bottomed swimming pool above and complemented by a gym, sauna and massage room. The owners chose shades of blue to decorate the beach club and accentuate a close connection with the surrounding waters.

Impressive and luxurious, the 80-metre Tatiana was delivered in 2021 by Bilgin Yachts and features a multi-level beach club spanning a total of 110 square metres. One of the yacht’s main attractions, the beach club is directly connected to the main saloon via a dramatic staircase and features two pools. They sit one above the other, one on the upper level and the other on the lower deck right next to the water’s edge.

Victorious's indoor swimming pool beach club

Credit: Burgess

When owner Vural Ak purchased what was an unfinished project in 2016, he decided that the stern of Victorious needed an additional six metres to carry his beloved collection of sports boats. The extension brought Victorious to her current length of 85 metres and also allowed additional room to create a 200 square metre beach club with a counter-current swimming pool, a gym, a massage room, a beauty salon, a traditional Turkish Hammam and an extensive water toy storage space. Three terraces open up the area further, folding down to provide direct access to the water, and artwork decorates the walls of the indoor area.
