Normally driven by an ageing yacht's natural wear and tear, refit periods were once seen as a necessary interruption. However, tightening capacity amid an ever-enlarging fleet (BOATPro indicates the global superyacht fleet has grown by 38.7 per cent within the past decade alone) has forced the industry to change their approach to refits, into something more routine and structured.
So, what does the market look like now? How have shipyards responded, and what will the next generation of refit facilities and solutions look like?
