The 10 largest superyachts attending the 2024 MYBA Charter Show

The MYBA Charter Show is returning to Genoa next week (22-25 April) and it’s set to be an exciting show with more than double the number of superyachts on display. After five years in Barcelona, the renowned trade event is returning to Italy along with 60 superyachts with a combined LOA of more than 2,618 metres. We take a look at the largest yachts in attendance...

Carinthia VII

Stats: Lürssen, 97.2m, 2002 (2023), 12 guests, 33 crew

Highlights: Spanning six decks, the 97-metre Lürssen superyacht, Carinthia VII has long been an icon, but after a recent refit in 2023, she was given a new lease of life. She boasts remarkable interior volume and expansive exterior deck spaces. During the refit, all guest areas were completely revamped, and she now lies in fabulous condition for charter. Accommodation on board is for 12 guests plus five supernumeraries across eight staterooms. This includes the Owner's stateroom and VIP stateroom on the Owner's deck, along with six additional staterooms on the main deck.

Carinthia VII is available to charter with Fraser with a weekly rate from €1,400,000.

Aquila

Stats: Derecktor, 85.6m, 2010 (2016), 12 guests, 28 crew

Highlights: Found among the world’s most expensive superyachts for charter, Aquila remains one of the most recognisable superyachts in the charter fleet more than 10 years after her delivery. Those that charter her can bask on Aquila's owners' deck with a private terrace overlooking the bow, or head to 'the London Bar' for a cocktail. Boasting a private members' club feel, she features a gym, massage rooms, a cinema and a party deck complete with a DJ booth, light show and smoke machine. Additionally, she has endless water toys, huge outdoor spaces and an impressive beach club.

Aquilla is available for charter with Burgess with a weekly rate from $945,000.

Emir

Stats: Golden Yachts, 83m, 2004 (2022), 28 guests, 28 crew

Highlights: Following a mesmerising refit in 2022, the 83-metre superyacht Emir is now gracing the charter market (and MYBA) in 2024. Originally launched as O'mega by Golden Yachts in 2004, Emir is well-known for her sophisticated interiors. The main deck saloon is gracefully designed in flamed mahogany joinery and has a multitude of comfortable seating options ensuring complete relaxation with state-of-the-art audio/visual systems. Meanwhile, the upper saloon offers a piano bar, oversized sofas and a 50-inch plasma television screen with a full stereo surround sound system and satellite TV access. Her expansive beam and towering profile are matched only by her capability to host up to 28 guests in 14 well-appointed cabins.

Emir is available to charter with Fraser with a weekly rate from €700,000

Malia

Stats: 77.7m, Golden Yachts, 2023, 12 guests, 22 crew

Highlights: Having only recently hit the water in 2023, Malia has already created waves in the industry. A nominee at this year’s World Superyacht Awards, Malia, was based upon the brief for something sporty with displacement comfort. She sports the first axe bow on a Golden Yacht and is a step away from the styling of her predecessors.  Her interior is equally avant-garde, hosting a contemporary art collection and more than 250 finishes, including polished marble and precious stones.

Malia is available to charter with Northrop and Johnson with a weekly rate from €750,000.

Boadicea

Stats: Amels, 76.6m, 1999 (2020), 12 guests, 22 crew

Highlights: Designed by Terence Disdale, this 77-metre behemoth is a truly classic Amels, but after her all-encompassing refit in 2020, Boadicea was propelled into the future and is now a contemporary charter vessel with elegant interiors that were recreated with charter in mind. The large saloon at main deck level was expanded upwards so that it includes the next level above, and the interiors were restyled using warm tones of walnut and leather.

For those who want to spend their charter with their four-legged friend, Boadicea was designed to be pet friendly and there’s even a garden on board with a trough containing soil and shrubs. This is where afternoon tea is served on board what is known as the ‘tea garden deck’.

Boadicea is available for charter with YPI with a weekly charter rate from €645,000

Naia

Stats: Freire, 73.6m, 2011 (2014), 12 guests, 27 crew

Highlights: Built to deliver exceptional experiences, the 74-metre is a hugely capable explorer yacht with superb volume and luxurious features. A proven charter yacht, Naia was designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for 12 guests. The bridge deck lounge has rich leather flooring combined with mild brown wood panels and cabinetry. A large U-shaped sofa, a cinema screen and a dining table are an invitation to relax here too. She also offers an exhilarating fleet of tenders and watertoys to keep the whole family entertained.

Naia is available to charter with Burgess with a weekly rate from €595,000

Lioness V

Stats: Benetti, 63.5, 2006 (2018), 12 guests, 19 crew

Highlights: Instantly recognisable thanks to her long sweeping windows and well-balanced profile, the 63.5-metre Lioness V, was built by Benetti in 2006 and had an extensive refit in 2018. With striking monochromatic interiors, she is particularly opulent but offers relaxing spaces too for 12 guests. A born entertainer, alongside large deck spaces, Lioness V has a cinema room, a fully equipped gym, a media room and a study. She also has a toybox brimming with fun, which can be launched from her large swim platform.

Lioness V is available for charter with a weekly rate from €380,000.

Artisan

Stats: Benetti, 63m, 2019, 12 guests,

Highlights: The 63-metre superyacht may be based on Benetti’s proven platform, but the commissioning owner’s request for an extra deck has made her one of a kind. With accommodation for 12, Artisan’s interiors are delightfully elegant and feature a number of quirky amenities including an asymmetric upper saloon. Here guests will find a dark gloss grand piano, a silky smoke-coloured rug by Vanghent and glints of steel in the arms of the armchairs and art-deco-esque floor lamps, both by Fendi Casa. The bar, its face sculpted from Bianco Statuario marble and framed with polished stainless steel, is the star of this glamorous space.

Artisan is available for charter with Royal Yacht International.

Apogee

Stats: Codecasa, 62.5, 2003 (2009), 12 guests, 17 crew

Highlights: Launched in 2003 by Italian yard Codecasa and refitted in 2009, Apogee is a fine example of yachts that stand the test of time. She boasts a rich interior by Franco and Anna Della Role that features extensive use of mahogany and rosewood, creating a fine blend of Old World ambience and modern conveniences. A large elevator connects all decks, while zero-speed stabilizers keep roll to a minimum for extra comfort on board. Guests will find an outstanding selection of tenders, water-sports toys and equipment to ensure maximum guest comfort and fun while aboard.

Sarastar

Stats: 60.2m, Mondomarine, 2017, 12 guests, 16 crew

Highlights: Having been sold in 2023, the 60-metre superyacht Sarastar has returned to the charter market and is available for those looking for something extra special. She's a fine choice for those in search of a lavish summer, thanks to her interiors by Luca Dini. High-gloss floors and backlit pear-green marble do well to encapsulate the sumptuous feel on board, and there is a backlit white onyx bar, glossy dining table and custom-made light fixture in the main saloon.Up on the sundeck are enormous sun pads shaded by an awning, perfect for those looking to top up their tan or those seeking protection from the midday sun. Right at the bow, a touch-and-go helipad allows guests to arrive in style and can double up as a dancefloor.
