The Barcelona Golf Invitational presented by BOAT and Voly returned on 20-21 May 2026, bringing together yacht captains and leading industry professionals for two days of networking, competition and camaraderie at one of Europe's most celebrated golfing destinations. Held at Camiral Quinta do Lago Resort, the event has quickly established itself as a highlight of the superyacht industry's social calendar, designed to foster meaningful connections both on and off the fairways.

Located in the heart of Catalonia and surrounded by more than 500 hectares of Mediterranean forest and landscaped grounds, Camiral Quinta do Lago Resort is widely regarded as one of Spain's premier golf resorts. The renowned Stadium Course, which hosted this year's tournament, has welcomed the Spanish Open on three occasions and has long been a fixture on the European Tour circuit. Ranked among the best golf courses in Spain, the championship course is celebrated for its challenging layout, dramatic water hazards and spectacular natural surroundings. More recently, the resort has gained further international recognition after being selected to host the Ryder Cup in 2031.

Proceedings began on Wednesday with guest arrivals and pre-registration at Hotel Camiral before attendees gathered for a Welcome Cocktail Reception on the Clubhouse Lawn. Overlooking the Stadium Course, the evening provided an opportunity for guests from across the global yachting community to reconnect with familiar faces and forge new industry relationships ahead of the competition.

Expert coaching before the competition

The following morning started with a breakfast briefing and warm-up clinic on the driving range, where European Tour short-game coach Tom Whitehouse and Sky Sports Golf presenter and PGA professional Trey Niven shared expert advice and practical tips before players headed out onto the course.

For those less familiar with the sport, a dedicated non-golfer programme offered an introduction to golf under Whitehouse's guidance, culminating in a putting challenge designed to test newly acquired skills.

At 10:30am, teams took to the Stadium Course for the main event: an 18-hole Golf Cup played in teams of four. Alongside the tournament itself, participants competed in a series of on-course challenges, including Nearest the Pin, Beat the Pro and Longest Drive.

Refreshment buggies and hospitality stations ensured players remained fuelled throughout the day, while lunch at the Halfway House provided a welcome opportunity to recharge before tackling the back nine.

Activities beyond the fairways

Meanwhile, non-golfing guests were able to choose between two alternative wellness-focused activities. Some took part in a padel masterclass led by experienced coaches, while others opted for a holistic Pilates session centred on mobility, balance and mindfulness.
