Legendary musician Lionel Richie and his model daughter Sofia shared a series of snaps from a private jet jaunt to New York in September 2017. The pair were joined by other members of the Richie family who visited the American city from their home in LA to support Sofia as she walked in Jeremy Scott's New York Fashion Week runway show.

Chris Hemsworth

As one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors Chris Hemsworth doesn't have time to spend hanging around in airports which is why his social media feeds are full of snaps taken in and around private aircraft. In August 2017, for example, Hemsworth shared images showing him taking both a helicopter and private jet during a vacation on Orpheus Island in Australia with wife Elsa Pataky and, a few weeks later, with a group of friends on board a luxury jet bound for Las Vegas to watch the much-hyped McGregor-Mayweather boxing match.

The Rock

One reason many people choose to fly by private jet is that it offers unparalleled comfort and privacy to work while travelling. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson demonstrated this perfectly when he shared these snaps of himself doing 'homework' for his upcoming movie Skyscraper while on a quick jaunt to Vancouver in Canada where the film is shooting.

Elsa Pataky

When you're one half of a Hollywood power couple chartering (or owning) a private jet becomes necessary to juggle hectic schedules. Of course, that doesn't mean it can't also be used for the occasional vacation, as Elsa Pataky - actress and wife of Chris Hemsworth - showed when she jetted off for a girl's holiday to the Dominican Republic on a private plane in March 2017.

Kylie Minogue

When you're an international pop icon with a world tour and hectic promotional schedule to stick to flying private is the only way to go. It can also be super stylish, as Kylie Minogue showed with this fun snap taken on her arrival to the UK in March 2017. But the biggest benefit to having your own plane? Flexibility - Kylie shared a picture of herself on a gorgeous tropical beach just days later.

Karlie Kloss

American model Karlie Kloss swapped New York Fashion Week for a relaxing break in St Barths in February 2017 but that didn't mean she forgot all the hard work going on back home. Posing on the private jet ready to whisk her off to the Caribbean, she posted this image with the caption, "St Barths bound. Wearing my @DVF wrap dress on this runway...and wishing good luck to @DVF and @saunderstudio on their #NYFW runway today".

Leigh-Anne Pinnock

When you're on tour as a member of one of the world's biggest girl groups then how better to travel the world than on a private jet? Recently spotted in Singapore and Australia before heading off to holiday on a luxury yacht in Marbella, Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock shows just how glamorous flying private can be.

Kim Kardashian

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian also headed to the French Riviera in May 2016. Making herself right at home, Kardashian is clearly in no need of a beginner's guide to flying by private jet and cheekily captioned this snap of herself spreading out on board "Cramped".

Kendall Jenner

If you're going to be snapped getting on and off a private jet then you need to look the part - a feat model Kendall Jenner definitely achieved when she flew to Cuba in this colourful vintage Hermes jacket.

Chris Pratt

Flying private may come as second nature to some celebrities but for Hollywood A-lister Chris Pratt it is still an experience worth sharing. He posted this image to social media with the caption, "Got to take a jet. Which is the pinnacle of luxury travel. So blessed and fortunate and still embracing how fantastic this is. Some people lose that. I don't think I will. Who knows? I hope not to."
